Picture framing is expensive because high grade materials such as picture framing mouldings, acid free mount board, float glass, other sundries such as masking tape, string, pins etc. are used. Also cost of overheads of the workshop, staff, unities, packing, shipping, marketing etc. So to make a custom picture frame all these costs have to be included.
